Chinon 2015, once again awarded

Near than 10 years ago we started Amfifanfare, the street band from the University of NAntes.
3 years after, aka one study cycle, 3/4 of the members gone in others cities and the band was about to disappear. I saved the project before it collapsed totally as I thought it would be a pity to finish like that. A few months doing every thing to keep it alive, I motivated people to take part step by step. It has been a hard year as we oftently played in bad conditions (like sport events). Sometimes we did enjoyed the gig, like for Chinon en fanfare, a contest for amateur bands (where we discovered A La Gueule du Ch'val, nicely punk band form Angers). Finally we had money in the bank and started to think about our first project (2 weeks in Sirbjia and in Guca fest) then the band performed itself with the core and new characters.

 

2013, we'are back in Chinon en fanfare.

We heard that the organizers didn't wanted us to participate (maybe because we didn't candidated for the 2 editions after our first participation? Maybe because we had been too bad in 2010?) and a juree from ALGDC band helped us to be part of that.
We had worked for a few months about musical quality with musicians from the National Orchestra of the Region, about presence on stage with Laurianne Douchin (dancer and choregraph) and Régis Florès (actor) so you imagine how good we were. We had a goal: win at least one of the prizes. A goal and ambition!

Results: we are awarded by the public. We are both happy and sad as we can't imagine the same band winning the 2 prizes.
Finally we are also awarded by the jury! Razzia! We are the first (and still only) band to win the both prizes in the same year!

2015, we're re-back in Chinon en fanfare!
Only 2 bands candidated for this year contest so the organizers called bands for animate more tha compete. We accept and we are with profesional bands, and there still is the public choice award to dispute.
We are not all presents, in front of pro bands, we played behind shops because they had been angry the years before taht the bands were only playing in the donwtown (but there were no more than 3 persons at their place), 20 minutes set (too short: people heard you, they come, and you have to go on another place), well, you know, we can't win like that.

9pm, results: we win the prize, with 350 points more than the second (it's enormous).

Even if we're not about competition, but we should have been sick not to win.
In fact, that's a kind of honour to have beaten only by ALGDC band, at a time they were quasi-profesionals (and we were in rebuilding).

Even If I didn't made Amfifanfare what it is today, I do saved it when it was collapsing, and I participate from the beginning in every step, experiments, second thoughts, wins. I'm very proud to have been so much part in this project.

Now I have to the same thing with the Saint-Clair's concert band!!
