When I found the flugelhorn I was looking for a trumpet. Why a trumpet when I already have one? Because when I play with the Amfifanfare the trumpet takes shots: we play outside, among children (who all want to try the instruments), sometimes in an horrible weather, maybe without a shelter, and I had a bad conscience in hurting my 15+years friend!
It even got a complete restoration by a luthier and now I wear gloves to play it (I have black one for concerts)!
So I was looking for a cheap but playable trumpet to replace it in the fanfar, which plays music from Balkans so it could be in the mood.
When I seen the twisted thing, bad-welded, I could just say no to anyone wanting to buy it... but it's a Couesnon, so I bought it:
It's more or less practicable but its very hard to play, quasi impossible on the treble, really impossible to grant (let's go everyone, today we play in 443Hz!) and the small leaks in the valves make very difficult the fast musics.
But it's enough hurted for not afraid me to hurt it!
With it I play outside, when we went to support Rroms who would be evacuated, and for the big summer project of the Amfifanfare: our international summer tour with concerts in Italy and Serbia and with the ultimate goal of Guca's Golden Trumpet Contest, the largest band festival in the world!
If I can find the Internet I will try to write some posts and pictures of the journet on this blog.
Waiting for it you can vote for me clicking on the picture:
