So Peugeot 206 became 206+ with the face of the new 207.
Then when came in the new 208 a lot of specialized people were waiting to discover a 206++ (as the 207 can't take a facelift from the new model).
Especially since the 206 has been produced with different shapes in South America (with a pick-up) in Asia and Orient (with a more statutory 4 door sedan), you know, "emrging markets", so its facelift could be profitable.
The same year came in the 301 for these markets, a 208 based 4 door sedan. It'll be the first price in the range, like the Logan for Renault, and should not be sold in our countries. You can see that on the main market, China, Volkswagen is number one by multiplying nearby products (compact sedans and familial with back).
So I imagined a facelift of the 206 inspired by the 208, so becoming 201. A world car adaptating on each market: 3, 4 or 5 doors, pick-up, cross...
I wasn't sure about the face inspiration, maybe the 301 a better way to fully assert its "low cost" range membership and do not compete with 208.
Unhappily Carlos Tavares announced this July that the 206 and all its official derivated will end soon, as to simplify the product ranges. No more 201!
It's logical when you see the new brands hierarchy within the group, so, you may wait for it, I drawn a version for Citroën (they sell the 206 in China as C-2) which is attempted the entry level range. But as the 206 does not fit with the style of the rafters brand, I redesigned a car based on the 206 sedan with aesthetics from C-Elysée.
A Fukang (our former ZX) new generation below the C-Elysée.
Of course, if all 206 derivatives are no longer produced there is no reason for this one to be, it's just about the beauty of art without thinking about the real production. Beside, how much does it cost to redesign a car without loud engineering modifications?
