Teacher For Real

... or may I wrote Real Teacher because here I am:

Close to 10 years ago I went for the first time to the exam to become a design teacher for in national college, just to know how it was, and of course I failed.

I tried a few times and always failed.

So I became an Applied Arts (mostly design) teacher as annual contractor and a colleague told me to pass the exam for what I was teaching and not for what I wanted to teach as it is simplier.

Indeed I passed it this year and today is my first day as a public teacher. A real teacher.

This is kind of a probation year but I'm not afraid to make it and to reach the next school year as an official public teacher.

A New Blog?

A long time ago I had a blog, which was on a platform which closed. I didn't save anything as I was really disappointed. Now I think that has been an error, may the notes have been good.
Then I started this blog, personal, and another one to help my survey about public spaces design.

I haven't wrote anything on this second blog since 2013, but I never forgot it!
I didn't defined my redactional strategy yet but I wanted to relaunch it.
Firstly, as I wrote here, I want to republish my former blogs and when a rumour saying that Peugeot-Citroën and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles could make a new group together I did wanted to restart it.
I didn't had time for that so I said no to myself but tonight I was tired so I wrote a new note!

Here comes the new note, only in French, about Lancia, a car brand I do like a lot, but I'm not sure it really like itself...
Here it is.

A New Year, New Projects

One of my new year resolution is about old things. First of all as it is not a new resolution, I've had this for a few years I think. Most of all because I'm about reusing posts from old (and some dead) blogs I wrote a few years ago.

There are 2 of these, well the second one is not just one but let's say it is.
The first one is my Comic drawned Blog about Design, in french that's the B.B.D.D.:

The second one is the Worldwide Design Blogs which is, as you can read its title, a few blogs about design all around the world. That was on the AdmirableDesign.com platform whe this was Gérard Caron and Joris Bébin working on it:

I won't say when I would do because I have to restore evry text, recap the pictures, or find them in my archives (archives, you know, that's so well stocked and classified and...), translate every text in english (everything was in french), and that's in more after making lessons, correct the works, prepare my exam, videomaking, running...
Here it is, written so that engages me more than if I keep it alone in my head!

Yvan PEDDLER

Fanfaronnades are this week-end, last days for the organization!
Before that I've candidated for un unexpected job: Mountain Peddler!



It's a job for the Council for defense of Beaufort's cheese and as it said by its name, it will be about walking from mountains to mountains, as to animate encounters, tasting date, tours...
It's a traditionnal recruitment (curriculum + motivation letter) but as the job will be about communicate throught social networks with videos and photos, I decided to promote myself with a website, a Facebook page, a few videos, and an online shops!

My video is inspired by a movie trailer so my curriculum is inspired by the movie poster:

and my motivation letter is about a trip guide for a mountains walk (you know it's about Beaufort and its region):

To candidate 3: You want my job?

After the applications too common to be right there are apllications which do miss their target:

''My goal is to integrate a local authorities like yours''

Maybe he found me in the planners page in the directory and thought I was a local authorities? Or may he be too lazy to change 3 words in the letter he sends to everyone?
It isn't serious. Even for the local authorities reading the following:

''for later, my experience and my networks will allow me to become Director of planning''

Boy, are you really ask me to employ you to take my job? It's good to be ambitious but if your are too ambitious you may kill your career. Maybe more in local authorities where promotion are not so rapid than in private sector.
You need to be more equilibrated before to apply.

To candidate 2: Reputation

I've worked as freelance so I received request for internships and even job applications by architects designers and planners!
There are people who don't write a word about your work and there are others who wants to do well (and I really think I did the same in the past) writing a sentence that seems to do well:

'' Your structure has the means to achieve this goal.

Your reputation and quality are for me a guarantee of success.''

But it isn't well done.
Which reputation? Which quality? I have maybe 4 or 5 articles in some media, where has he found a reputation? Or I have a bad one in all planning firms but I don't think so!

I really think that is a kind of sentences to forget as it doesn't make the recruiter happier, and I prefer someone to criticize one of my projects (even negatively, at least it is a builded idea).

Absence

I'm going on the other extremity of the french hexagon 2 weeks so I won't post before the european
day of music (so no more gonzo tuba during this time).

Al Qaeda in Iceland?

Not a lot of posts on this blog for monthes. In fact I'm learning AutoCAD, THE software for operational urban design with which I hope to enter til my strategical works for territories.

 


Nothing volcanic, thus, except that the rate of but 8 hours a day every day from 7:40 during 10 weeks (and we start at 7:40am every morning) neurones are like lava and I have not enough energy for all I have to do when I'm home. I manage to work at best 2 hours for administrtives papers and preparating future jobs (Steve ?).

I'll be back (yes, one more time).

Presse Océan

My Christmas vid has been seen not by a lot of people, but it has been seen by a journalist !

So in January I've been interviewed by Frédéric Testu for Presse Océan a regional dailynews. And it was published today !

More of that, I'm proud to be on the first page with the title : "He's selling himself as a brand : This urban designer is singing on his blog to find a job."
